NCCR SwissMAP creates an attractive environment and opportunities for the best young scientists to do research at the interface of mathematics and physics. We encourage all young researchers, and in particular women and young families, to excel in their career, and provide means and aid for their advancement.
- We organize regular meetings in order to complement the training and education of postdocs and Ph.D. students in Switzerland and to allow young researchers to present their work to a wider audience, thus providing an access to the international scientific community.
- The Master Class program gives Master and PhD students entry points to the forefront of research. Regular Master students are also supported via excellence scholarships.
- We organize special programs and evens for high school students, also addressing the “gender gap” problem.
Advancement of women / equal opportunities
An increase in the representation of talented women in the research area on the interface of mathematics and physics will be beneficial for the NCCR itself, but also, by creating positive role models, for the general appeal of science and technology for young women.
