The Department of Mathematics at ETH Zurich invites applications for an assistant professor position (non-tenure track) in mathematical physics. Candidates should hold a PhD or equivalent in mathematics or physics, and should have demonstrated the ability to carry out independent research work. Willingness to teach at all university levels and to participate in collaborative work within mathematics and physics is expected. The new professor will be expected to teach undergraduate (German or English) and graduate courses (English) for students of mathematics, physics, and other natural sciences and engineering. He or she will be part of the National Competence Center in Research “SwissMAP”.
This assistant professorship has been established to promote the careers of younger scientists. The initial appointment is for four years with the possibility of renewal for an additional two-year period.
