Tutored by Dr. Alice Gasparini from the education team of SwissMAP,  3 pupils in Geneva decided to choose the topic of their "travail de maturité" (TM) in the field General Relativity:

- Barbara Tomarchio: "Comment la trajectoire d'un rayon de lumière se courbe  en présence de gravitation? Pouvons nous faire des prévisions quantitatives en supposant que la lumière soit formée par de particules, sur la base de la mécanique classique?" . 
Barbara made a classical perturbative calculation and realised that the relativistic one is necessary. She even prepares an observation of strong lensing from quasar HE0435-1223 with the Swiss telescope Euler (Chili), with the help of Dr. Bonvin Vivien (EPFL).

- Sarhaddi Keyvan and Meier Lucas "Pourquoi est-t-il important de comprendre les concepts de matière noire et d'énergie noire pour pouvoir s'intéresser à la composition de l'Univers et à son expansion". 
These two pupils are trying to describe qualitatively what are the experimental signs of these two components of the Universe. They will try to modelise them using the Friedmann equations.
