"Leonardo en Perspective" Exhibition videos10/06/2020

If you did not get a chance to visit the "Leonardo en Perspective" exhibition curated by our members Shaula Fiorelli, Joana Mailler and Pierre-Alain Cherix to mark the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death, these videos are a wonderful opportunity to discover the less well-known aspects of da Vinci’s work. 
Unfortunately, due to the restrictions connected to the response to the Covid-19 pandemic, this conference has been postponed from initial date 20 May 2020, to summer 2021 to be held again at CERN. The exact time frame for this will be communicated in due course. 
Dare to join the online Math Escape Room mission in the Swiss mountains of Les Diablerets and embark on a this new Mathscope adventure put together by our SwissMAP Science Officer Elise Raphael for teenagers and adults (aged 15 yrs upwards - FR) 
Our annual Perspectives journal is now available online. This year it is a special edition on education and outreach.

Alice Gasparini (UniGE) receives the 2020 CPEP Award for: Excellence in Teaching Contemporary Physics. The Contemporary Physics Education Project (CPEP) is a non-profit organization of teachers, educators, and physicists located around the world. 
Our member Maryna Viazovska (EPFL) was amongst the 10 outstanding young researchers who received the 2020 EMS prize. The 10 EMS Prizes are awarded every four years “to young researchers not older than 35 years, of European nationality or working in Europe, in recognition of excellent contributions in mathematics". 
To celebrate this 12th May, Women in Maths Day today, we invite you to read about our member's Maryna Viazovska's research sphere-packing problem in dimension 8 in "Sphere Packing Solved in Higher Dimensions" Quantamagazine.
