New member: Danilo Lewanski (UNIGE, M. Mariño's Group)

7 Apr 2022

Welcome to our new Senior Researcher member: Danilo Lewanski (UNIGE, M. Mariño's Group). Danilo is currently leading the SNF Ambizione project EnTIRe, hosted at the University of Geneva. The project focuses on the interaction between the algebraic geometry of moduli spaces of curves, the mathematical physics of integrable systems, and resurgence. The approach employed involves a universal procedure to compute the model correlators known as topological recursion (2007).

After completing his PhD in Mathematics at the University of Amsterdam in 2017 with Shadrin, he worked in the group of Borot and Zagier at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn and later joined the ERC Synergy ReNewQuantum project (Andersen, Eynard, Kontsevich, Mariño) as postdoctoral researcher at IHES and IPhT (Paris).

EnTIRe has a separately funded section dedicated to the engagement in maths outreach at different levels in nine African countries, in collaboration with the UK-based charity SAMI (Supporting African Maths Initiatives), the African organisation AMI, and the social enterprises IDEMS and INNODEMS.
