New Members : Carl Beadle (UNIGE), Davide Perrone (UNIGE) & Alberto Rolandi (UNIGE)

6 Feb 2024

Welcome to Carl Beadle, Davide Perrone and Alberto Rolandi.

Carl received his bachelor's from Trinity College in Dublin and then his MSc from the University of Oxford, in mathematical physics. His bachelor's thesis was on modern topics in inflation and his master's thesis was covering the black hole information paradox and its proposed resolution through modification of the Ryu-Takayanagi formula / its interpretation. Currently, his research interests are on dark matter phenomenology, with a focus on very light particle candidates.

Davide took his bachelor degree at University of Pisa and did his master degree at Scuola Normale Superiore, located in Pisa too. His research interests are mainly Effective field theories, Black Hole Quasi-Normal modes, Cosmology and Primordial Black Holes, Amplitudes and Positivity techniques.

Alberto started in late 2020 a PhD in quantum thermodynamics at the University of Geneva in prof. Brunner’s group with ambizione fellow Dr. Perarnau-Llobet. The focus of his PhD has been mostly on the minimization of thermodynamic work in a variety of contexts, sometimes relating more to “regular” quantum information some other times relating more to many-body physics and condensed matter.
