Postdoctoral position in the field of Analysis and Partial Differential Equations (PDEs)

3 Oct 2025

The research group of Professor Mikaela Iacobelli in the Department of Mathematics at ETH Zurich invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral position, with the possibility of renewal, in the field of Analysis and Partial Differential Equations (PDEs).

Job description

- The successful candidate will collaborate on research projects related to the mathematics of plasmas, with a focus on kinetic theory and PDEs.

- Specific topics include stability, long-time behaviour, and mathematical properties of magnetised plasma models (such as magnetized Vlasov–Poisson and Vlasov–Maxwell systems).

- The position includes teaching responsibilities, such as organising a course and assisting with exam grading.

- The anticipated start date is 1 September 2026, with some flexibility upon agreement.

- A PhD in Mathematics (completed by the start date) is required.

Application deadline: November 3rd, 2025
