We welcome Pierrick Bousseau (ETH Zurich) as SwissMAP Professor

14 Dec 2021

Congratulations to Pierrick, who  was already a SwissMAP member (R. Pandharipande’s Group), and has been appointed Assistant Professor. He joined our SwissMAP Geometry, Topology, and Physics Research Project.

His research interests are Algebraic geometry, curve counting theories (Gromov-Witten, Donaldson-Thomas invariants), tropical geometry, mirror symmetry, deformation quantization, quiver invariants, cluster varieties.

Pierrick received the Cours et Prix Claude-Antoine Peccot 2021-2022 which distinguishes the most promising young mathematicians. The prize is traditionally awarded at the June meeting of the Collège de France, on the proposal of the mathematics professors.

He was also recipient of the SwissMAP 2020 Innovator Prize  for his proof of Takahashi's conjecture for the log Calabi-Yau geometry via a new sheaf/curve correspondence.
