Welcome J. Penedones and M. Porta

Welcome to João Penedones and Marcello Porta who have joined the SwissMAP team as assistant professors in February 2016. These are two new positions created by SwissMAP at its partner institutions.

 

João Penedones is a theoretical physicist and his research interests include Conformal Field Theory, Gauge/gravity Duality and String Theory. He was appointed as Tenure Track Assistant Professor for Theoretical Physics in the School of Basic Sciences (SB) in EPFL.

 

Marcello Porta is a mathematical physicist interested in problems arising from Quantum Many Body Theory and Condensed Matter Physics. Marcello is an assistant professor in Mathematics at the University of Zurich.
