New Members : Thérèse Moerschell (ETHZ) & Mirjam Weilenmann (UNIGE)

10 Oct 2023

Welcome to our new members : Thérèse Moerschell (ETHZ) & Mirjam Weilenmann (UNIGE).

Thérèse completed her Bachelor and Master's degree in Mathematics at EPFL. She did her Master thesis on Non-uniqueness of solutions to the Advection-Diffusion equation under the supervision of Prof. Maria Colombo. Her current reseach interests are PDEs, fluid dynamics and quantization of measures.

Mirjam's research interests lie at the intersection of quantum information theory and the foundations of quantum theory. She's particularly interested in understanding the physical principles that underlie quantum theory and in the dectection of quantum resources in many-body systems. For this purpose, she studies convex optimisation techniques and entropic inequalities. Before joining the University of Geneva, she completed a PhD at the University of York under the supervision of Roger Colbeck and then spent four years as post-doctoral researcher in the group of Miguel Navascués at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI) in Vienna.

Phase I & II research project(s)

  • Quantum Systems
  • Statistical Mechanics

Phase III direction(s)
