New Postdoc Members : Guillaume Blanc, Zhihao Duan, Pawel Duch, Bernhard Kepka, Denis Nesterov & Yannik Schuler

8 Oct 2025

Guillaume was previously a PhD student at Université Paris-Saclay, under the supervision of Nicolas Curien and Arvind Singh. He defended his thesis in September 2024. He's interested in Probability and random geometry questions.

Zhihao received his Ph.D. from the École Normale Supérieure (Paris) in 2019. He subsequently held postdoctoral positions at the Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS) and Queen Mary University of London. His current research interests focus on non-perturbative phenomena in quantum field theory or string theory and their associated quantum mathematics. He is also interested in the mathematical structure of generalized global symmetries.

Pavel's present research focuses on the intersection between probability theory, PDE theory and Euclidean quantum field theory. He is especially interested in problems involving singular stochastic partial differential equations and renormalization. He also has a background in mathematical aspects of perturbative and axiomatic quantum field theory as well as general relativity.

Bernhard earned his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Juan J. L. Velázquez at the University of Bonn.
His research interests include kinetic theory (in particular the Boltzmann equation as well as the Vlasov-Poisson equation) and fluid mechanics (incompressible Euler equations).

Denis obtained his PhD from the University of Bonn in 2022, before becoming a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Vienna. His research interests lie in algebraic geometry, and in particular moduli spaces of sheaves and curves.

Yannik was a research associate in Dhruv Ranganathan’s group in Cambridge and did his PhD under the supervision of Andrea Brini at the University of Sheffield. His research focuses on questions about enumerative invariants and the geometry of their moduli spaces — mostly in the framework of Gromov–Witten theory. Often these questions are inspired by topological quantum field theory.
